It kills the creative mojo, when the space for creating, is being utilised for other things. So I empathise with the want, but lack of ability to get stuck into new projects. Fortunately, I was able to do a tidy, so it's usable again. General construction, however, cannot be cleaned until the job is done. Hopefully by winter, you'll have some usable space again. :)Chris https://www.blogger.com/profile/13715819899708384147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8284944855633609232.post-49331277727760499012019-12-01T11:03:19.558+10:002019-12-01T11:03:19.558+10:00The workshop sounds great Chel! So many varieties from the original green one, to choose from too. But the original, brings peace of mind, with low light situations. As you don't have to worry about it loosing its colour! One day! Once thee yurt is no longer a building site I cant wait to fill it with greenery and hanging pots and macramé hangers are definitely on the list.

I remember my Mum had a huge three tier macramé hanger she made, It was brown and itchy as I liked to hide behind it when I was tiny. She possibly has it somewhere still. I should ask her and dig it out.

I would have chosen the hemp cord too, Its tougher and more durable. Also from my understanding hemp is a more environmentally friendly crop to grow so win-win!

xxEmma Christianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08500696381837942950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8284944855633609232.post-90366765445244996242019-11-30T08:03:35.459+10:002019-11-30T08:03:35.459+10:00Chris, we hope to have a macrame workshop next yea...Chris, we hope to have a macrame workshop next year at our simple living group.I was also into macrame back in the day as it was a popular craft then but it is coming back again. And pothos definitely love a warm, humid environment. They'd be perfect where you are. :)Chris https://www.blogger.com/profile/13715819899708384147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8284944855633609232.post-17331505887760776942019-11-28T16:27:23.706+10:002019-11-28T16:27:23.706+10:00It was extremely popular in my mum's era, and ...It was extremely popular in my mum's era, and she's now in her 60's. She doesn't have any of her collection either. I guess if you're not using them or have to downsize/make room for more space, they become a pile of string again. We moved around a lot, and that hanger I played with, came to many places. But I'll have to ask what happened to it. I need closure, lol.

Don't tempt me with the renovations, Bev. I'm already plotting an outdoors area, next to that particular bathroom. Bushfire mitigation plans, come first though. :) Chris https://www.blogger.com/profile/13715819899708384147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8284944855633609232.post-78422751904642898172019-11-28T16:19:16.374+10:002019-11-28T16:19:16.374+10:00Macrame is definitely a lot of fun, and I see the ...Macrame is definitely a lot of fun, and I see the appeal for so many. Belts! I forgot about those. There was also an owl, walling hanging phase, using beads, I have memories of too. But those are more vague.

The plants have taught me a whole bunch. Most importantly, how to develop a routine. Or I'll simply forget! Life gets busy, as you know. When I complete my current projects I might give this a go. Sadly I don't seem to have any of the projects left....I must have given them away or composted those in natural fibres. Don't even have any of the books and pattens I bought either. Time moves on and interests change. That's life I suppose. I love your plant holder and what you're doing in the bathroom, but someday I expect to see you're building on another bathroom just to have a bath, etc, in! It's an art form that deserves a revival.

I'll look forward to your indoor plant learning curve. I have a hard time with indoor plants and could use any tips you've gleaned in your experiments.

Blogs are a great way to record information and keep track of things!Leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02435811789823712254noreply@blogger.com
